There’s so much more to Siem Reap than Angkor Wat.

Got clients heading to Siem Reap? We think they will be pleasantly surprised when you tell them there’s so much more to Siem Reap than Angkor Wat.

Siem Reap is a resort town in northwestern Cambodia and is the gateway to the ruins of Angkor, the seat of the Khmer kingdom from the 9th–15th centuries. Angkor’s vast complex of intricate stone buildings includes preserved Angkor Wat, the main temple.
Whilst there is no doubt that is probably why your clients are heading to Siem Reap in the first place, there’s so much more to the town to be discovered.

Whilst most head there for the temples and let’s not kid ourselves, no visit to Siam Reap is complete without a visit to Angkor Wat, but many visitors don’t realise that Siem Reap is now an awesome town in its own right, and has everything you could want for in accommodation from backpacker hostels to trendy hotels with amazing dining.

What’s more, there’s something for everyone including of course, the tours of the temples, but equally there are food tours, adventure tours and many other types of activity you can think of including galleries, museums, silk farms and war museums.

The cuisine is available at every end of the scale from cheap, but real street food to fine dining from award-winning chefs at one of the hotels. Nightlife is pretty off the scale too, from the heady lights of Pub Street, which has to be seen to be believed to stylish cocktail bars to enjoy.

One of Siem Reap must do’s is Phare, the Cambodian Circus; it’s a Cirque du Soleil style show with acrobatics to make you gasp and look in amazement – well worth a visit. And of course, for those on a budget then Angkor night market is a must-visit. Open until the early hours, it is full of trinkets, bargains and much more.

So, there really is so much more to Siem Reap than Angkor Wat, and if your clients have the time, then it’s well worth a few days to soak up this town of many different sides to it. And Stuba has a choice of 210 hotels in Siem Reap to suit every budget!
