$131,000 donated to Make A Wish at Dream Vacations National Conference
For the past eight years, Make-A-Wish® has been the signature charity for Dream Vacations, CruiseOne®, Cruises Inc.® and parent company World Travel Holdings. Fundraising is always a core component of National Conference and this year, attendees raised more than $131,000 to enrich the lives of 26 children with critical illnesses.
While aboard Royal Caribbean International’s Symphony of the Seas, franchisees, agents, staff and suppliers participated in a variety of fundraising activities such as silent auctions, Zumba at Sea presented by Celebrity Cruises®, and Royal Caribbean granting attendees – who make a donation – exclusive access to the Ultimate Abyss®, the tallest slide at sea.
“Wishes are an important part of a child’s treatment journey. Each wish provides a child facing a critical illness with the opportunity to be a kid again. They feel a renewed strength to continue to fight their medical battle, and they feel a renewed hope that tomorrow will be brighter,” said Norman Wedderburn, President and CEO of Make-A-Wish Southern Florida. “Thanks to the passion and dedication of the teams at Dream Vacations, CruiseOne, Cruises Inc. and World Travel Holdings, we’re able to grant even more wishes to deserving children.
