Dubrovnik, Amalfi Coast, Santorini and Malta – travel beyond the big cities of Europe
Travel beyond the big cities of Europe, there is so much more to discover. There are destinations in Europe, which we think your clients should add to their list because they have it all! Amazing culture and history, plus some awesome hotels, not to mention the delicious food, great weather and surrounded by crystal clear waters we take a look at Dubrovnik, Santorini, Amalfi Coast and Malta.
Popular with cruise ships and a big ‘go to’ destination currently for the brits, Dubrovnik should be on your radar. Located on theAdriatic Sea coast in the south of Croatia, it’s nicknamed “Pearl of the Adriatic” and is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1979. The old town is a must visit, with a walk around the old city walls offering great views. Restaurants and bars are aplenty offering the freshest seafood with the warmest of welcomes. Definitely one to add to the list whilst in Europe.
Famed for its white wash and blue domed buildings, cobbled streets, and amazing sunsets, Santorini remains about as picture postcard as Greece gets! Beaches are more volcanic sand due to its history, but there’s so much more beyond the beaches. Head inland to the villages for a true taste of Greece, with wonderful local tavernas, and there’s even vineyards to stop and sample the local wine. It’s definitely one for the tick list of Greek islands to visit.
Italy at its most picturesque – A 50km stretch of coastline with picture postcard fishing villages, small coves and sheer cliffs. If your clients are willing to put their brave pants on then tell them to hire a car, it’s the best way to experience it, but the Italian driving along that stretch can be quite scary! There’s plenty to see and do there, from Pompeii, to Positano and Sorrento – the food is exquisite and the local limoncello is definitely to be sampled!
Located in the Mediterranean between Sicily and North Africa, for a small island Malta is full of surprises. There’s so much more to it than it’s beautiful beaches, with historic towns and sites that have been restored, amazing restaurants along with new festivals and great nightlife to rival other destinations. Island hopping over to Gozo and Camino for some nature walks, sheltered coves and outdoor pursuits is also a must.
