Industry confident Queensland is the Caravanning State
For the past two years Queensland has established itself as the caravanning state, having the highest number of registered campervans, motorhomes, caravans and RV vehicles in the country and this is now evidenced further with Queensland recording the largest growth in domestic tourism in 2018 for caravan and camping related travel.
With more Queenslanders taking to the roads than ever before and more interstate travellers making the journey north year on year, recreational vehicle and accessory manufacturers are looking to capitalise on the state’s love for the great outdoors, by showing their latest and greatest to Queenslanders first.
As the 51st Queensland Caravan, Camping and Touring Supershow rolls into town with more than 250 exhibitors and 1,000 RV’s on display in tow, many exhibitors are planning to launch never before seen models, accessories and technology here in Queensland for the first time to coincide with the state’s peak caravanning season.
Caravanning Queensland General Manager, Jason Plant, said the strength of the market is evident following 180,068 new recreational vehicle registrations in Queensland in the past year[i] and 2,688,369 caravanning and camping trips to Queensland by domestic travellers in 2018[ii].
“The growing trend towards traditional caravanning and camping holidays amongst Queenslanders and interstate visitors shows no signs of slowing and highlights the strength of the industry for recreational vehicle manufacturers and dealers and holiday parks alike,” Mr Plant said.
“With tens of thousands of caravanners and campers from the southern states visiting Queensland between May-August, the Supershow perfectly connects local and travelling ‘carafans’ and this year a large percentage of exhibitors have recognised this and are launching brand new, never before seen products right here in Queensland.
“Exhibitors are bringing out all the stops this year, giving Queenslanders the opportunity to be the first to see the latest devices and products the industry has to offer.”
From brand new caravan models to the return of some all-time classic favourites, new technology and products to make you wonder how you ever managed without them; travellers want to make the most of their outdoor adventures and this year’s Supershow will equip them with everything they need for their next road trip.
The Caravan, Camping and Touring Supershow will also be host to a Towing Master Class featuring tips and tricks from Gary Gardner and Roger Vickery. On the Creek to Coast Outdoor Stage carafans can learn a thing or two about cooking up a feast in the comfort of an RV kitchen from industry experts Sally Jenyns and Scotty Hillier.
Visitors at this year’s Supershow will also have the chance to win the major prize of a Jayco CrossTrak, valued at a whopping $36,990. Whether you’re a couple young or old or a family, this is the perfect prize to scoop up and start your travelling adventures.
