Escape in the majestic fusion of fashion and florals
A spectacular display of florals intertwining couture fashion will adorn the lobby of Grand Hyatt Melbourne for two weeks from Saturday 25th August.
The unique installation marks the arrival of Melbourne’s most iconic florist, Victoria Whitelaw, coming onboard as Grand Hyatt Melbourne’s official hotel florist.
Consisting of five standout displays around the hotel lobby, the installation is also a supporting showcase for a nearby exhibition by artist Pam Davison called “Dreams Echoing the Memories of Time” – a fully immersive experience that fuses couture fashion, floristry, sound and theatre to evoke emotion and memories with scenery representing the four seasons of the year.
Opening on Wednesday 29th August at fortyfivedownstairs (45 Flinders Lane, 250m from the hotel), “Dreams Echoing the Memories of Time” is free to visit and part of the 2018 Melbourne Fashion Week program.
This exhibition is the second of its kind to be created by a Melbourne-based collective consisting of Victoria Whitelaw, visual storyteller Pam Davison, renowned couture fashion designer Linda Britten, stage and theatre director Cameron Menzies, designer and creative director Tim Britten-Finschi and sound designer and composer Russell Goldsmith.
Grand Hyatt Melbourne is proud to support this local talent and encourages all guests to visit the hotel lobby before or after seeing the exhibition at fortyfivedownstairs to truly soak up the experience of immersing oneself in the beauty of fashion and florals.
The lobby installation by Victoria Whitelaw will run from Saturday 25th August through to Monday 10th September.
“Dreams Echoing the Memories of Time” at fortyfivedownstairs runs from Wednesday 29th August through to Saturday 8th September. www.fortyfivedownstairs.com
