No visa for Uzbekistan

Luxury travel company Abercrombie & Kent welcomes the news that from 1 April 2017 Australian passport holders no longer require a tourist visa for Uzbekistan. The country’s newly elected President has issued a decree to stimulate tourism in the country announcing that the citizens of 15 countries, including Australia, are now exempt from visa obligations for tourism purposes.

Uzbekistan is one of A&K’s newest destinations and has seen rapid growth since its introduction to the portfolio in 2015. Home to the legendary cities of Samarkand and Bukhara, the country offers extraordinary architecture, grand mosques, UNESCO World Heritage sites, breath-taking landscapes and rich handicrafts.

For travellers to Uzbekistan, A&K offers the 8-day private ‘Highlights of Uzbekistan’ journey from $7,715 per person as well as the 15-day hosted journey ‘Ancient Trade Routes of Central Asia’ journey which combines Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan for groups of no more than 18 guests. Three departures are scheduled in 2017.
